Sephiroth |
| Sefuirosu is the
translation of the Japanese
character. Sephiroth was never
really given a last name. However,
I not sure if Hojo is really his
last name. As for the name
Sephiroth, the word comes from
Kabbala whichs is a Jewish
tradition. This tradition is a
personal guide to avoid dangers
to inherent in mystical
experiences, so one could
approach God directly. Adam and
Moses, for instances, we're ones
that followed this tradition. The
Sefira, or Sephiroth if pural,
are the 10 powers by which God
was to become manifest. Each
Sefira refers to the aspect of
God; the rhythm of what Sefira
unfolds to another is believed to
represent the rhythm of creation.
The rhythm of the Sephiroth
unfolds like this: Supreme Crown, Wisdom, Beauty, Eternity,
Majesty, Foundation, and
Kingship. The pun is that
Sephiroth is the power used to
manifest God, so one can talk to
him directly, which his character
was about. Sephiroth longed to
find the Promised Land and become
the next God. |
