Walk-thru - Disk 2
This is an unofficial walk-thru of the game. Here you will find a way to defeat the game as well as some tips, cheats and other helpful matters that will help you as you play Final Fantasy VII.

Shell Village
After witnessing the death of Aeris, head back outside the shell house. You should see Sephiroth and the three paths of the village. When following him, you’ll eventually come to a cavern filled with a series of ladders. Navigate your way through the cavern and you’ll finally be back outside - but it’s snowing.

Glacier Village
When you arrive at Glacier Village, be sure to go to the house located all the way to the right. There, you’ll be able to get a map of the Great Glacier area. It’s located on the wall of the house. Next, talk to the man located at the top of the town, some Shinra soldiers will hassle you. When Elena attempts to hit you, tap the left button to duck out of the way - unless you want to get slapped. After the sequence with the Shinra guys, go to the house with the kid who had the snowboard - he’ll give it to you. After getting the snowboard, go back and talk to the man located at the top of town. You should now be able to go snowboarding. Be sure to stock up on supplies, you have a long journey ahead of you.

Great Glacier
After crashing into the snow, if you got the map, press the Square button to pull up the map and find out where you are by using landmarks. Your basic goal here is to make it to the Red Check Mark, but be sure to look around there a ton of cool things here in the Great Glacier - the Alexander Materia is one of them. When you get to the area with the huge crater in it, head south, then east until you get to the log bridge. Cross the bridge and go south until you reach the "lone tree". From there, head south, and then go west until you reach the lake. Get the item and head to the northwest corner - the body of water with the floating blocks. Navigate your way through the blocks and you’ll then receive another item. After that, head up to the mountain pass area located to the east - you’ll find some blue Materia. It’s hard to see, but you should be able to find it in the snow. After you get the blue Materia, head to the hot springs (located in the northeast corner). When you get to the hot springs, touch the water and then head to the snow lady’s cave. The snow lady’s cave can only be accessed in that crazy snow place where you can leave landmark-flags. Talk to her and she will attack you. Beat her and then you will receive the Alexander Materia.

Staying Warm in the Gaea Cliffs
When climbing the cliffs, you’ll notice that you have a meter located in the corner of the screen. By tapping the Square button, you’ll be able to keep your temperature above freezing. If you don’t, you’ll start all the way back at the cabin (below 27). You can only charge the meter on the flagged edges - so tap that Square button when you can. Once you enter the cave, go under the two-arches and go up the stairs. Head west. When you climb the stairs, you’ll notice that the path is blocked by a wall of crystals. Head northwest and follow the path that winds behind the cave wall. You’ll encounter a rock - push it. The path should now be clear. Head to where the crystal wall used to be and follow the path to the outside. Once outside, you then have to repeat the same system that was used in the first cliff climbing. Just make sure you keep yourself warm and you should fine. When you get to the second cave entrance, you’ll notice some huge holes in that block your way to the next room - these will have to be filled some how. Go through the nearby door and follow the curving path until you reach the area with the icicles hanging from the cave ceiling. You will have to fight all the icicles in order to fill all the wholes at the bottom - so start cracking! When you get to the third cave, be sure to drink from the pool and save your game, you’re going to have to fight a boss. After defeating the boss, climb up the right side of the cliff wall and then you’ll see what Sephiroth is really up to.

Energy Field
After the cut-scene, head down the crater wall. Tifa will then join your party, if she isn’t in there already, and talk with you. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled when you get to the bottom crater - the Neo Bahamut Materia is there. When you get the Red Materia, jump to the save point. Next, jump to the background area. This will lead to a brief sequence with some Shinra goons again. After the sequence, head left and you will encounter some shrouded weirdoes and an energy barrier. If you talk to the shrouded guys, they will give you some items and now you’ll have to cross the barrier. Crossing the barrier takes some timing, but it’s pretty easy. Just wait until the "wind" calms down and then run through. If you don’t make it, well, you’ll have to fight a monster. When you’ve crossed the first barrier, head north and you’ll face yet another barrier. Wait until the wind barrier slows and then run through it. Continue to head north and you’ll see Sephiroth. After you beat up his minions, Sephiroth will call for a stronger opponent - watch out! After you defeat the boss, head north and you should find a save point, along with an item. You’ll be challenged with another energy field - watch out for that crazy lightning bolt. When you successfully get through the final barrier, you’ll then witness another sequence that twists the plot even more.

Back at Cannon Town
When you gain control of Barret, follow Tifa and the guards. Be sure to note that when Tifa is locked in the gas chamber, the guard will drop the key on his way out. When you gain control of Barret again, try and unlock the door. You won’t be able to open the door, so head back outside and you’ll be greeted with an explosive cut-scene. During all this, you’ll still have to get everyone out. Right after you leave the room with Barret, take a right and talk to the reporter - Yuffie. Head to the left and ride the elevator up to the airship. Now lets take care of Tifa. Through a series of button combinations, you can free her. Just press X, X, Triangle, X + Triangle, Triangle + Square, Square. Once Tifa is free, head to the left and turn the gas off. Once the gas is turned off, try and open the door - it won’t open. Lucky for Tifa, the Sea Monster blew a hole in the gas chamber ceiling - make your way up. Just keep heading north until you get to the tip of the barrel of Cannon Town - trust us. You’ll face some Shinra punks once again. Now, once the sequence starts, rapidly hit the O button. Tifa will start fighting and then Barret/Highwind rescues her from being beat up by Shinra guards. Brilliant! When you gain control of Tifa again, go through the door to your left and follow the signs to the Cockpit. After the brief conversation, talk with Cid. Next, talk with Red XIII and then Cid again. Finally, talk with the pilot - then go to the Operations Room (you can change your party, save your game, etc.). Go back to the cockpit and talk with Cid, he’ll show you how to pilot the airship.

Searching for Cloud
Now that you have your airship, fly to the city located on the southeast continent. Just look for a small village in the middle of a forest, you’ll be able to land on a grass-plain near it. When you enter the town, Tifa will automatically speak with the cat. She will then find out that Cloud is here and she’ll run into the hospital. Confined to a wheelchair, Cloud is suffering from Mako poisoning. From here, the story begins to unfold. Cloud and Tifa won’t be able to be in your party, so you’ll have to decide who is cut out for the next mission. Head to the airship. When you get back in the town with your new party, be sure to talk with everyone and explore the shops - useful stuff here. After exploring, you’re off to North Corel.

The Train, The Train, The Train!
Pilot the airship to the eastern part of the main southern continent. It’s the cave that’s southwest of Costa del Sol. When you enter the cave, climb to the top of the hill and you’ll see the Makoro furnace. There will be two guards in front of the entrance, fight them and the train will pop out - get ready. The train that’s shipping the "Huge Materia" is making its way towards North Corel, and you’ve go to stop it. Your party will automatically get on another train in an attempt to stop it. Cid will have to pilot the train by alternating the main levers on the train (UP and the Triangle button). If you keep up the steady rhythm, the trains will get closer and closer to each other, and you’ll be able to jump onto the Shinra train. A warning: Each box car has an enemy you’ll have to battle. These battles are timed, so be sure to use elemental spells, and try and stay away from summoning spells. When you finally get to the front of the train, you’ll then have to beat two more guards. After beating them, you will now have to slow the train down. Just press UP and the Triangle button and you’ll eventually stop the train. (UP + Triangle, UP + Triangle, UP + Triangle, etc.) The train should stop right in front of North Corel. If you don’t stop it, well, I suggest that you restart the mission.

North Corel: Saved
Be sure to go around the town and search, you may find some cool stuff. Remember that boy that was searching the well for something shining?...Talk to him - he’s got Materia. Next, go up the wooden ladder and check out the house left of the inn. Talk to the girl with the hat, she’ll give you an item. Now, head back east, to the Condor’s Nest.

Back at the Condor's Nest
This is where the Rock Town was, for those who couldn’t remember. Go talk to the man in the guard tower and prepare for war - make sure you have a lot of cash. To give you a quick synopsis, this is a real-time mini game. Much like Warcraft or Command & Conquer. The idea is to beat all of the Shinra enemies before they get to the Phoenix. If you have a lot of cash, and you should, this game is really easy and shouldn’t pose too many problems. Just make sure they don’t get to the wooden shack. After the mini-game, a cool little cut-scene shows the birth of the Phoenix and you should then revive the Phoenix Materia.

Cloud is Back
When you get back to the hospital where Cloud was at, you’ll have a brief chat and then you’ll have to fight one of the weapons. Be sure to charge your guys up, he’s pretty strong. In fact, he’s so strong that you won’t actually beat him, he’ll just fly away when you’ve lowered him to a certain HP level. Save the victory dance for later, the town is about to fall apart! Unfortunately, Tifa couldn’t roll Cloud out in time. Cloud gets a double dose of Materia poison. Now this is where it gets weird. When you gain control of Tifa, talk to all the Clouds. After you finish, talk to the top one again - this will lead to a cut-scene. You’ll be taken back to Nibelheim. As soon as Cloud comes from the shadows, talk to him. Keep talking to him and Sephiroth will then appear. When you get back to the area with the three Clouds, talk to the one on the left. After that sequence, talk with the one to the right. Finally, talk to the young one. After those events finish, talk with the black Cloud. Both Clouds will then join together. Follow Cloud to the top of the screen and go into the town. Cloud will appear again, but he’ll be in a Shinra suit. The truth begins to unfold. Keep talking with Cloud and you’ll eventually return to the surface. When Cloud finally gets his senses back, you’ll eventually end up back on the Highwind. Be sure to visit the town before you leave, you may need to stock up on supplies. You can also receive a bonus orb from the little Chocobo located at the top left corner of the town - just make sure you have Mimento food.

Return to Junon Town
When you enter the town, go to the back of town and talk to the guard, he’ll let you on the elevator for 10 gils. Right when you get off the elevator, take a left and head through the nearest door. There should be Save Point there if you need it. Continue up the street until you get to the overpass - make the first left that you see. You’ll see a group of soldiers rehearsing. When the soldiers complete their routine, follow them into the door all the at the bottom left of the screen. This door will lead to another elevator. Proceed north until you reach the underwater pathway. When you enter the building, activate the pink control panel. the door will open. Exit the room and you’ll be in the submarine docking area. After the Save Point, you’ll run into some guards - piece a cake. Just keep beating up the guards until you reach the part where you’ll start seeing the Materia being loaded. One of the Turks will walk over and you’ll face a mechanical boss. After you defeat the boss, head up into the sub - don’t forget all the treasure chests along the way. Beat the remaining soldiers and get ready to pilot a submarine. Woohoo!
Submarine Controls:
D-Pad: Navigates the Submarine
Triangle Button: Accelerate
X Button: Reverse
Square: Launches Torpedoes
R1 or R2: Switches Camera Views

The Submarine Chase
Now you’re behind the wheel of fully armed submarine. Your mission is to search and destroy Shinra’s red submarine. But Shinra won’t go down that easy. Beside the big red sub, you’ll soon notice that there are a few more subs in the ocean - and they’ll try to kill you! After sinking the Shinra sub, you’ll soon discover that the last piece of Huge Materia is headed towards Rocket Town. But before you rush to Rocket Town, take a cruise around the ocean for a bit, mainly to get the piece of Materia from the sunken Shinra sub.

Bonus Stuff:
Along the ocean floor, you’ll find a lot of useful items, we’ll tell you about the necessary locations, but you might want to look around sometime when you get the chance.
If you see this guy...RUN! He will kill you! You will die! No life for you! That’s one of the weapons right there. So watch out for him. The sunken plane has a ton of useful items in it. I suggest you take a look inside. But we better warn you, the Turks are in there as well. Expect a fight. You’ll also want to find the Key of the Ancients. I won’t give away too much, but the key is located near the middle of the continent.

Back at Wutai
Pilot the sub back to Junon and hop back on your airship. Head west back to Wutai, Yuffie’s hometown. When you get into the town, go to the mountains with the statues carved into them. Enter the mountain cave and when you walk to the flames. You will now be able to extinguish them and pick up some pretty useful items. Now let’s head to Rocket Town.

Rocket Town
When you arrive at Rocket Town, you’ll immediately head towards the rocket. There, you will face Rude and some Shinra guards. After defeating them, head towards the rocket’s control room. Basically, the Shinra are attempting to hit the meteor with the rocket and the piece of huge Materia. To retrieve the huge Materia, you’ll need a passcode - O, Square, X, X. After the awesome sequence with the meteor, go back to Cosmo Canyon.

Cosmo Canyon
When you arrive at Cosmo Canyon, go talk with Bugenhagen - he’ll explain everything. Now you should have the Key of the Ancients, because that’s where you and Bugenhagen are going, the burial ground of the Ancients in Shell Village. Of course, Bugenhagen will give you the option of taking a look at the huge Materia. Here are the requirements for gaining the bonus Materia:
Blue - Bahamut Zero
Must have Bahamut Materia and Neo Bahamut Materia
Yellow - Master Command
Must have all 13 command Materia at Master level
Red - Master Summoning
Must have all 16 summoning Materia at Master level
Green - Master Magic
Must have all 21 magic Materia at Master level

Burial of the Ancients
When you arrive at Shell Village, head towards the left cavern. A sequence with Bugenhagen will take place. After the sequence, leave Shell Village and head towards Midgar.

The Battle at Midgar
Race to Midgar and wait along the shore of Midgar until the weapon reaches you. That’s right, go on and fight him. After fighting with the weapon, Midgar will launch the Sister Ray...be glad you’re not the weapon. When the sequence is finished, head into the Midgar with the airship. When you get inside, follow Cait Sith until you confront the Turks. When you meet them, you have a choice to either fight them or leave them. When you finally reach the outskirts of the gun area (the tracks), you’ll face Heidegger and Scarlet - but they aren’t alone. Get ready for another fight. After defeating the huge mech, you’ll find out that you have seven days until the Meteor hits. Crap. Go up and face Hojo. He’s tough, and he has three different forms, so watch out. After Hojo disc two is over
