Denny Hamlin will sit on the pole for Sunday’s Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. Driving the No. 11 car, Hamlin’s lap of 187.451 bested Greg Biffle who will start second.
Auto Club Speedway is a 1.5 mile track which has hosted 23 Sprint Cup Series races dating back to 1997.

The pole is the first of the season for Hamlin, he had three in 2012. With only 43 cars on the entry list there were no teams who went home after qualifying.
