Well shucks. The Johnny Manziel era in the NFL will have to wait a little longer.

According to FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer the Browns will again start Brian Hoyer when they host the Colts for their Week 14 game on Sunday.

Hoyer has led the Browns a surprising 7-5 record this season even as he has played without Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron for much of the year.

However the wheels have come off of Hoyer in recent weeks leaving head coach Mike Pettine to bench him late last week. Filling in for Hoyer, Manziel made his NFL debut scoring on a 10-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter of a loss in Buffalo.

We can only assume that Pettine is playing it safe in going with the veteran game manager in this one. The Browns playoff hopes are slim and a loss this week could do them in and Hoyer in the process.

Who would have thought the Browns would have a winning record this late in the season and their quarterback situation to be still such a blur?
