Teddy Bridgewater retiring after season ends

Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

Teddy Bridgewater intends to retire following the conclusion of the 2023 season. The backup quarterback shared the news with the Detroit Free Press.

Bridgewater has spent 10 seasons in the NFL. Currently he is a member of the Detroit Lions. The veteran quarterback intends to coach high school football once his career comes to an end.

After being selected 32nd overall out of Louisville by Minnesota in 2014, the quarterback has made stops with six teams.

Bridgewater last got on the field during a Week 5 win over Carolina when he took two knee-down snaps.
