Brandon McReynolds drove Allison inspired ARCA car at Daytona

Brandon McReynolds crashed out of the race with two to go in the No. 28 Toyota for KBR Motorsports in the ARCA Menards Series season opener at Daytona International Speedway.

US Workboats sponsored the car for McReynolds which honored newly inducted NASCAR Hall of Famer Davey Allison for whom his father was crew chief of at Robert Yates Racing. In theend McReynolds finished 25th.

Allison was Brandon McReynolds’ godfather.

“Any time you can put the 28 car up front here it’s a good day,” McReynolds said. “It means a lot with Davey going into the Hall of Fame to have his paint scheme here. I got lucky and got a good run. I let off the gas and dropped back a little bit and sucked up on the guys in front of me so that’s where we found that speed.”

McReynolds won an ARCA race at Talladega in 2012.
