NASCAR at Richmond 2013: Race Weekend Schedule, Start Time, Qualifying, TV and Weather Info

2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Richmond
NASCAR heads to Richmond International Raceway this weekend.  The Nationwide Virginia 529 College Savings 250 will run on Friday, September 6 while the Sprint Cup series Federated Auto Parts 400 will run Saturday evening, September 7.

The Camping World Truck series is at Iowa Speedway this weekend, for the Fan Appreciation 200, which will run on Sunday, September 9 in the afternoon.

For the Sprint Cup series, Sunday’s race at Richmond will determine if the team will be in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Chase.The Nationwide series will continue their last nine races to determine their series champion.

Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Clint Bowyer, Matt Kenseth, Kevin Harvick and Carl Edwards are locked into the Chase. The six remaining spots are up for grabs at Richmond.

WEATHER:

Richmond: This weekend is set to be beautiful in Richmond, VA at Richmond International Raceway.  Mid-day temperatures will be in the high 70’s, low 80’s with no rain in the forecast. For Friday night’s Nationwide series race, expect the temperatures to be in the 70’s, dropping into the mid 60’s during race time. On Saturday for the Sprint Cup race, temperatures will be in the high 60’s/low 70’s during race time.

Iowa: For the Truck race on Sunday, temperatures will be in the high 80’s and partly cloudy. There is a 20% chance of rain that we will watch and update as necessary if it increases.
