Brad Keselowski won the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Richmond International Raceway on Friday night.
Friday nights race was the 1,000th race in the Nationwide Series. It did not disappoint.
Brian Scott began the Virginia 529 College Savings 250 on the pole at the 3/4 mile Richmond International Raceway. Scott would lead every lap of the race until he sun the tires on a restart with 12 to go allowing Brad Keselowski to get around.
A caution dropped after Keselowski completed the pass and turned Scott’s night into a disappointment.
Scott had one more chance but struggled to get going on the final restart. After the race he questioned Keselowski’s restart but in the end it is the No. 22 in victory lane and Scott left with a second place finish.
The win is the fifth Nationwide Series win of the year for Keselowski and 25th of his career. He will look to duplicate it tomorrow night and earn entry into the 2013 NASCAR Chase.
