Men’s Biathlon and Snowboarding events cancelled for Monday

Fog has again cancelled the Men’s Biathlon Mass Start and has also prevented Cross Country Snowboarding.

Both events will now take place on Tuesday Feb. 18.

Snowboarding will alter its format removing the qualifying round. Instead it will run seven heats of five riders and one heat of of four. The top three will move to the quarterfinal rounds.

United States snowboarder Nate Holland and Trevor Jacob will compete against one another in the first heat.

“This fog, it’s super dense up there,” said Holland, a seven-time X Games winner in search of his first Olympic medal. “It’s the Olympics. We want to have the best rider win and not have anything screwy.”
