American Jeremy Abbott fell hard on his quadruple jump on Thursday during his Short Program. Abbott laid on the ice for about ten seconds, before getting up and resuming his session, much to the shock of coaches on the sideline.
After the wipe out, Abbott landed a triple lutz-triple toe combination. After a spin, he did a triple axel. The crowd gave him a standing ovation. Abbott earned a 72.58.
The free skate is Friday night.
