Devin Hester is calling it quits from the NFL.
It was widely assumed that the 35-year-old ace return man was going to retire following a playoff loss by the Seahawks to the Falcons a year ago but now word is official.
Hester began his career as a cornerback for the Chicago Bears but came to fame as a return man. He dabbeled as a receiver in an attempt to get him more touches but never really made much of an impact on offense.
But special teams was different. He set a NFL record with 14 punt return touchdowns and 20 non-offensive touchdowns. His 3,695 return yards are third-most all time.
