Giants finally fire Ben McAdoo, GM Jerry Reese

In a move that was long overdue, the Giants have fired both head coach Ben McAdoo and general manager Jerry Reese.

As if losing was not bad enough, the Giants have been a beacon for inept managing the last twelve months. Even last year when the team made the playoffs they failed to move the ball offensively and McAdoo had done nothing to improve that situation this year.

To add to all the losing the team also completely mishandled their quarterback situation opting for a PR nightmare regarding the benching of Eli Manning following his NFL record 210th start. Manning sat on the sidelines on Sunday as the team turned to Geno Smith for what would be their tenth loss of the season.

Manning’s benching was not the only situation that made headlines this year about the ability of McAdoo and Reese to lead. Both Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Janoris Jenkins were suspended during the season as well.

Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo takes over as the head coach on an intern basis. It will be a while before McAdoo resurfaces in any major capacity.
