NFL fines Johnny Manziel $12,000 for middle finger

The NFL has handed down a $12,000 fine against Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel for the middle finger he gave the bench of the Washington Redskins during their preseason game on Monday.

Manziel struggled against the Redskins going 7 for 16 for 65 yards and a touchdown but much of those statistics were accumulated late in the contest against second and third team defensive players.

Brian Hoyer was announced as the starting quarterback of the Browns on Wednesday which has resulted in many giving Manziel the nickname “Johnny Clipboard” mocking his “Johnny Football” nickname from Texas A&M.
