John Skelton to start for Cardinals in Week 14

The Ryan Lindley experiment at quarterback is over. John Skelton will start for the Arizona Cardinals in Week 14 at Seattle.

Despite the struggles of Lindley, 10-of31 with a interception, the Cardinals never considered allowing Skelton to play in last weeks loss to the New York Jets. During that game the Jets replaced a struggling Mark Sanchez at quarterback and won with third string Greg McElroy.

Skelton has played in six games this season and has a 54.7% completion percentage. During his time playing Skelton has 1,058 yards passing (5.91 per pass) to go with 2 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Skelton has been sacked 14 times. While Lindley did not make the list, its hard to expect too much from Skelton as he ranks last in ESPN’s Total QBR stat. (Yes. behind Sanchez and Brandon Weeden)

After starting the season a surprising 4-0 the Cardinals have lost their last 8 games. Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald said “You gotta laugh to keep from crying,” when talking about the teams offense following the loss to the Jets.
