Denver Broncos at Oakland Raiders point spread, line and preview

The Denver Broncos will play against the Oakland Raiders on Thursday. Scheduled for a 8:20 p.m. EST kickoff the game will be aired on NFL Network.

While Denver may be the hottest team in the NFL, Oakland is free falling. Denver won the first meeting between these two teams by a score of 37-6. In that game Peyton Manning picked apart the Raiders to the tune of 338 yards and three touchdowns. Its hard to expect anything different in Thursdays game.

So whats the line in the Broncos and Raiders game? The Broncos are a 10.5 point favorite against the Raiders. The over/under for the game is set at 48.5 at most places.

Oakland has lost its last five games and were blown out by double-digits in four of those games. During its five game losing streak the Raiders have given up a whopping 37.8 points. Of course thats not too much different then the 31.8 points per game they have allowed on the season.

Denver on the other hand has improved on both sides of the ball. Everyone will talk about the success of Peyton Manning and the offense but when that unit began to click so did the defense. The Broncos are third in total defense and have allowed 20.3 points per game.

The Broncos ground game may not be the same since they lost Willis McGahee a few weeks ago but they win because of the pass.

Peyton Manning stats? Yes he will put them up. He leads in ESPN’s Total QBR, he is second in QB Rating and has thrown for 3,502 yards (291 yards per game) in 12 games and has thrown 29 touchdowns to only 9 interceptions.

Prediction:Denver will win this game. The question remains by how much. Gut reaction sees this as a double digit win.

Still its worth considering their recent road game against Kansas City. In that game the Broncos defeated the Chiefs 17-9. Denver won by 8 again last week and three weeks ago defeated San Diego by 7. During their seveng ame win streak the Broncos are winning by an average of 12.
