The No. 11 Toyota Camry of Denny Hamlin had a tough start to the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
During the pace laps for the race ballast came out of Hamlin’s car. The driver had to pull into the pits to have it reattached and lost eight laps in the process.

In addition to ruining Hamlin’s chances of winning for a second race in a row, the crew chief, car chief and head engineer also face four race suspensions.
