Rain halts Daytona 500 after 20 laps

Rain stopped the Daytona 500 after 20 laps at Daytona International Speedway.

Pole sitter Ricky Stenhouse Jr. led every lap before the red flag came out at the 2.5 mile track T 4:36 pm ET.

The race is scheduled for 200 laps. Track drying efforts consist of 18 Air Titans, 12 jet dryers, two vacuums and one sweeper.

There is no estimation of when the race might resume. A effort to run the race on Monday would likely have a 4 pm ET start time.
