Elliott wins Roval, playoff field set

Chase Elliott rallied from an early mistake to take home the checkered flag in the second running of the Charlotte Roval.

Elliott was able to slip by and pull away from teammate Alex Bowman who squeaked his way into a playoff spot for the Round of 12.

The first eight finishers in the field were drivers who advanced in the playoffs. Jimmie Johnson was the first non-playoff driver finishing ninth.

Advancing in the playoffs are Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick, Elliott, Brad Keselowski, Kyle Larson, Bowman, Ryan Blaney, William Byron, and Clint Bowyer.

Eliminated from the playoffs are Aric Almirola, Ryan Newman, Kurt Busch and Erik Jones.
