Trevor Bayne finishes 21st in last race in No. 6

Trevor Bayne’s last race in the No. 6 Ford of Roush Fenway Racing was Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway.

Earlier in the week Bayne posted to social media about his last weekend for Roush Fenway.

“Surreal feeling this weekend. Not sure to be sad about it potentially being the last one, or excited about what God will have next for us. I’, feeling a lot of both to be honest.”

Earlier in the season, Bayne had his scheduled cut from the full 36 races to just 21 as Matt Kenseth rejoined Roush Fenway for a parcial season run. Ryan Newman will take over the car for the full 2019 season.

Running a limited schedule with the Wood Brothers in the No. 21 in 2011, Bayne pulled off a stunning win of the Daytona 500 in just his second Cup Series start. He would take over the No. 6 car in 2015 but has managed just four top-five and 13 top-ten finishes during that span.

In a largely uneventful day, Bayne finished 21st in Texas.
