Weather puts NASCAR Cup race on hold for now at Indy

Mist has again fallen on Indianapolis Motor Speedway prior to the start of Sunday’s running of the Big Machines Vodka 400 at the Brickyard. This has resulted in the start of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series being delayed.

NASCAR made a decision to move up the start time of Sunday’s race from 2 pm ET to 1 pm ET in an effort to ensure the Cup race could be completed on Sunday. Unfortunately rain and mist has been on the track all day and plans for the Cup race have been on hold.

A competition caution will take place at lap 10 and lap 30 after no practice or qualifying took place.

The Xfinity Series race which was scheduled for Saturday was moved to Monday at 10 am ET.
