Kevin Harvick has been to victory lane five times this season at the NASCAR Cup Series level. On Sunday night he finished last for the time time in his career.
The driver of the No. 4 Ford Fusion started at the back of the pack and finished last after a tire issue occured in the first stage of the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
News first came on social media that Harvick’s first last place finish came in his 1,089th start.
Since 1995, @KevinHarvick has started 1,089 points-paying races in Cup, XFINITY, and Trucks. He didn't finish last in the first 1,088. As #LASTCAR recognizes a 40th-place finish, it's time to also honor a remarkable streak by one of the sport's best.
