Jimmie Johnson’s fresh new 2018 paint scheme (Photos)

Jimmie Johnson’s familiar No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet will look a little different this season.

The car Johnson will drive has a bit of a color change going from the blues that has been on it recent years to black with the website lowesforpros.com splashed across the car.

Johnson’s refreshed 2018 paint scheme was first revealed by Hendrick Motorsports in October of 2017.

A seven-time Series champion, Johnson finished 10th in the point standings in 2017 posting his lowest win total (3) since 2011. Johnson’s average start position of 16.9 and average finish of 16.8 were the worst of his career as were his four top-five finishes and 11 top-10 finishes. Johnson also led a career low of 217 laps, less than half of what he had led in any other season.

Perhaps a new paint scheme was needed to try and turn some of those numbers around?

Johnson’s first point paying race in the new paint scheme of the No. 48 is the season opening Daytona 500 on February 18th.
