NASCAR runs it’s annual July 4th weekend race at Daytona International Speedway this Sunday.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is on the pole for the Coke Zero 400 as 43 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers attempt to go to victory lane at the 2.5-mile track located in Daytona Beach.

Daytona has been in the news recently not only for Sunday’s race, but for it’s flag trade in program in which racegoers could turn in a Confederate flag for an American flag. Thus far the program has not met much activity other than via news outlets.

Aric Almirola won this event a year ago as weather prevented it from completing it’s full advertised distance. Joey Logano won the season opening Daytona 500 back in February.

Coverage of Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Daytona will air on NBC Sports Network with race coverage starting at 7:45 pm ET. The green flag is set to fly at 8:04 pm ET.
