Sunday’s running of the Geico 500 will be without three full-time cars after Ricky Stenhouse Jr, Justin Allgaier and Joe Nemechek all failed to make the race.
The failure to make the race was the first for Stenhouse in 73 career attempts and the first for Allgaier in 36 attempts.
A slue of cars ahead of Stenhouse, and Allgaier required provisionals leaving them out of Sunday’s Geico 500. Joe Nemechek also failed to make the race after his car failed post race inspection. That allowed the car of Reed Sorenson into the race.
Tony Stewart made the race via the past champions provisional.
