Danica Patrick will again get behind the wheel of a pink car this weekend as she competes in the Bank of American 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The No. 10 Go Daddy Chevrolet SS will have pink in addition to its familiar neon green color as Patrick competes at the 1.5-mile track. The car, as is the case for many others in the field, will call attention to Breast Cancer.
“My friend had a double mastectomy as a preemptive strike because she actually tested positive for the breast cancer gene,” said Patrick.
“She went through everything and hopefully avoided it, but it hit close to home. I think far too many people know someone affected by this disease.
“We wanted to do something a little different this year and something to honor people who have fought the disease.”
Patrick will also have a pink visor, gloves and of course pink shoes.
