Paul Menard had a difficult Friday at Bristol Motor Speedway making contact with the wall in the first practice session and then losing his car chiefs notes in the second.

Menard left pit road with a binder of notes on the deck lid of his No. 27 Menards Chevrolet SS. It only took a few turns at the “Worlds Fastest Half Mile” for those notes to go flying off and onto the track.

The No. 20 car driven by Matt Kenseth collected some of those notes while safety and cleanup crews collected the rest. The good news for Menard is that car chief Craig Smokstad was able to retrieve some of those notes.

Menard has been good at Bristol in recent races. He finished 21st there this spring but prior to that had four finishes of 10th or better.
