NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Ryan Truex was taken to a local hospital for evaluation after a crash in Saturday’s opening practice.
Truex lost control of his BK Racing No. 83 Toyota early in the 50-minute session at MIS. Truex attempted to correct his car in Turn 2 and made contact with the outside wall.
After leaving the car under his own power Truex reported shoulder pain and a headache. A team rep said his trip to the hospital was for further tests, including checking for a possible concussion.
Truex was 33rd-fastest in the session.
