Jimmie Johnson won the Quicken Loans 400 on Sunday at Michigan International Speedway. The driver of the No, 48 Chevrolet again proved to bee too much for the rest of the field scoring his first win at Michigan.
Sunday’s race began with Kevin Harvick on the pole but Jeff Gordon was able to get around him early on to pace the field. Harvick would reasume the lead later in the race but was not a factor for the win. Following the last round of pit stops Jimmie Johnson found himself out front with four tires with 9 laps to go.
Despite never winning at Michigan, Johnson had maintained some of the series best stats at the 2-mile track.
All four Hendrick Motorsports cars finished inside the top seven.,
