After some planning, former NBA player and current TNT analyst Charles Barkley and NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. finally were able to meet one another for some go kart racing.

Never one to be on the lighter side, Barkley made Earnhardt Jr. look like a dwarf once he was placed in his driving suit.

Hoping to see the actual race? Sorry to tell you… The race was filmed for NASCAR on TNT’s Summer Series and will air prior to the June 8 race at Pocono. (hopefully someone places it on the web before then!)

“I don’t want to ruin it, but I would tell you this — I was really surprised at how nice a guy he was,” Earnhardt said. “I expected him to be a competition, a little more aggressive just in his personality just knowing what kind of basketball player he was and how he was on the court.

When asked who won the match race, Earnhardt Jr. said, via NASCASR.com “We’ll just have to save the results for later, but you can imagine how it went.”

“He was super nice. Really has an appreciation for our sport. Just a real nice guy to be around.”
