To say the 2014 season has not started the way Danica Patrick envisioned is an understatement.

On Sunday the driver of the No. 10 Chevrolet SS of Stewart-Hass Racing crashed into Justin Allgaier and Travis Kvapil on Lap 172. Later she had a left-rear tire go down. She finished 36th.

It was not much better a week ago at Daytona when she crashed out of the season opening Daytona 500 finishing 40th.

“It’s tough,” Patrick said after the race. “That’s two weeks in a row we’ve had good cars and nothing to show for it. The car was good all day, we just needed track position. I’m starting to think if we didn’t have bad luck, we’d have no luck at all. The GoDaddy guys built me a great car for the second week in a row. I hate it for them, and I hate it for GoDaddy. This is obviously an important race for them. Hopefully things turn around in Las Vegas.”

Patrick finished 39th last year at Phoenix coming off a eighth place finish at Daytona.
