Tony Kanaan met with JGR, no deal yet?

There are rumors flying around that Tony Kanaan may be headed to Joe Gibbs Racing to drive a car in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

Kanaan, 38, met with officials from JGR this week but there appears to be no deal in place at this time.

The ever popular Kanaan has struggled to find a ride on the IndyCar circuit for 2014 despite winning the Indianapolis 500 this year. The 2004 series champion has been upset that potential teams have asked him to bring aboard sponsorship dollars.

Thus far FOX Sports is saying there is nothing to report on Kanaan to JGR but until the team formerly announces its 2014 Nationwide Series roster a contract for Kanaan can not be entirely ruled out.

Current Nationwide Series driver Brian Vickers will leave the organization for the No. 55 car of Michael Waltrip Racing at the Cup level.
