Kyle Larson will be making the move to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in 2014. Larson, 21, has been driving in the Nationwide Series for Turner Scott Motorsports.

In 2014 the Japanese American will pilot the No. 42 Chevrolet for Earnhardt Ganassi Racing replacing Juan Pablo Montoya.

An official announcement will come on Friday. At EGR Larson will be partnered with veteran teammate Jamie McMurray.

In 23 races at the Nationwide level this season, Larson has 13 top ten finishes and is eighth in the overall driver standings.

Thus far there have been no mention of where Montoya may end up for 2014. After spending seven seasons at EGR the former open wheel star said he simply wants to compete to win races. He won two races in the Sprint Cup Series, both on road courses.
