(Video) Tony Stewart involved in massive Sprint Car wreck

Tony Stewart was involved in a massive Sprint Car wreck on Tuesday evening at Canandaigua Motorsports Park in New York.

Fifteen cars were involved in the wreck that happened on lap 7 of the 25 lap feature. The wreck left 19 year old Alysha Ruggles hospitalized with a back injury. According to the Democrat & Chronicle Ruggles car went airborne after it hit the wheels of another car.

“As of now, she is at Strong Memorial Hospital with a back injury,” the track stated on its page. “She is going to be put in a back brace and, as of right now, doctors are evaluating whether further steps need to be taken.”

Stewart took blame for the accident, saying he tried to force the issue putting the car somewhere it didn’t belong.

“I have never seen anything this bad in a sprint car race, I don’t think, or this many cars being taken out in one wreck,” said sprint car driver Mike Stelter.

The wreck comes just a little month after Jason Leffler was killed in a Sprint Car accident at Bridgeport Speedway.
