AJ Allmendinger will be back behind the wheel of a Michael Shank race car at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Brickyard Grand Prix on July 26. He will co-drive with Gustavo Yacaman.
Allmendinger will drive the No. 6 Michael Shank Racing Ford-Riley.
Allmendinger has been racing for MSR since 2006, when he was part of the Rolex 24 At Daytona team. Allmendinger’s team won the 2012 24 Hours at Daytona.
Since Allmendinger’s return to racing after failing a drug test last season, he finished seventh at this year’s Indy 500, and won a NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Road America.
Allmendinger shares time in both the No 51 Phoenix Racing Chevrolet and No. 47 JTG Daugherty Racing Toyota in the NASCAR Cup series. His winning Nationwide series race came with Penske Racing.
