Jimmie Johnson started along side race leader Juan Pablo Montoya on the final restart of the race. By the time the two drivers reached the start-finish line Johnson was pulling away from the field with visions of a eighth win at Dover International Speedway.
Johnson had jumped the restart and made no attempt to give the position back to Montoya by the time the field exited turn two.

NASCAR black flag the No. 48 Chevrolet sending him to a 17th place finish. As Tony Stewart went to victory lane, it was Johnson who was left upset with NASCAR’s call.
