Dale Earnhardt Jr and his sponsor the National Guard will continue to honor those who have served when the veteran driver gets behind the wheel of his No. 88 Chevrolet SS at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Earnhardt will have a camouflage car this Sunday for the running of the Coca-Cola 600. Prior to the race five soldiers from the North Carolina National Guard will be on hand to help push the car to the starting grid prior to the race.
Currently Earnhardt ranks 4th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup driver standings accumulating three finishes inside the top-five in 11 starts.
Earnhardt Jr. has never won a points race at Charlotte and it has proven to be one of his tougher tracks. In 26 career starts he has just 5 top-five finishes and 11 finishes inside the top-ten.
