The tenth race of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season will take place on Sunday. Carl Edwards will lead a field of 43 cars to the green flag in the Aaron’s 499 from Talladega Superspeedway.

Qualifying for the race at NASCAR’s biggest track was rained out allowing Edwards to claim the pole based on his speed in practice. The rain also prevented Elliott Sadler from making the race as he had the fewest number of owner points.

Do not be fooled by the title of the race. The Cup cars will go around the 2.66 mile track for 188 laps which accounts for 500.08 miles.

Pre-race coverage of the event will start on FOX at 12:300 pm ET with the green flag scheduled to be waved at 1:19 pm ET.

Mike Joy, Darrell Waltrip and Larry McReynolds will call the race with Steve Byrnes, Matt Yocum and Krista Voda working the pits., Chris Myers will be in the Hollywood Hotel while Jeff Hammond mans the Virtual Garage.
