Clint Bowyer will drive his No. 15 Toyota in the April 13 race at Texas Motor Speedway with sponsorship from Gander Mountain.
During the NRA 500 the car driven by Bowyer will have the message “With Rights Comes Responsibility; Secure Your Firearms.”
The plan is for race fans and gun enthusiasts to use the hashtag #responsibilitypledge on social media in an effort to promote responsible gun ownership.
“As a leading outdoors retailer, Gander Mountain is committed to the mandate of responsible firearms ownership, and the importance of guarding against firearms getting into the hands of the underaged, untrained and unauthorized,” said Steve Uline, executive vice president of marketing for Gander Mountain. “We believe that with rights comes responsibility.
This weekend the Sprint Cup Series will race at Martinsville where Bowyer will drive a car sponsored by RK Motors.
