A.J. Allmendinger will run a limited schedule in NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series during the 2013 season. His first race of the season will take place at Phoenix International Raceway driving the No. 51 Chevrolet SS of Phoenix Racing.
Allmendinger will be making his fifth start for Phoenix Racing. The car will have the colors and logos of Guy Roofing.
At Phoenix the 31-year-old driver has made eight starts and has finished inside the top ten on two occasions. He also has three starts on the front row and sat on the pole in 2010.
“This will be good. It’s been a few months since I’ve been in a stock car. I haven’t been in one of the Gen 6 cars yet, so I think it will take a little time to get acclimated to it. Phoenix International Raceway is a great place for me to get back behind the wheel. I’ve always enjoyed the race track. It will definitely feel different, but I’ll be ready to go” said Allmendinger.
After Phoenix, Allmendinger is scheduled to drive for Phoenix Racing at Bristol Motor Speedway, Auto Club Speedway and Martinsville Speedway.
