Actor James Franco gave the command for drivers of the 55th running of the Daytona 500 to fire their engines.
What he said exactly was “Drivers! — and— Danica! start your engines.”
Franco was in town to promote his new movie, “Oz the Great and Powerful.” If he was going to spice up the command, maybe, “gentlemen and Danica” would of worked better. They are all drivers, are they not? Blunder or not – it will go down in Daytona 500 command history – that’s for sure.
