First wreck during Daytona 500 claims big names, Stewart and Harvick

The first wreck during the 55th running of the Daytona 500 happened on lap 33. The race had just went green from a debris caution.

The No.18 of Kyle Busch got into the rear of No.5 Kasey Kahne sending Kahne flying through the grass just near the start/finish line.

The crash collected big name drivers, Kevin Harvick, Juan Pablo Montoya, Tony Stewart, Casey Mears, Brad Keselowski,  and Jamie McMurray.

Several of the cars are done for the race, including Tony Stewart who was going for his first ever Daytona 500 win in fifteen races at the track. Stewart said, “I’d be lying to you if I said I wasn’t heartbroken or disappointed… we had a really good car.”
