The 2012 Daytona 500 winner, Matt Kenseth led a race high 86 laps in the 55th running of the race on Sunday. He was not around to see the finish nor was his teammate Kyle Busch.

Kenseth and Busch both left the 200 lap race with just over 50 laps remaining.

The No. 20 car of Kenseth went to the garage with either a transmission or engine problem. Moments later Busch’s No. 18 car was done for the day

Busch said that his engine gave no indication that it was about to let go.

“Something inside the motor broke that wasn’t supposed to break.” said Busch.

At the time that Kenseth and Busch left the race with problems they had been running at the front of the field with teammate Denny Hamlin.
