Kevin Harvick’s car hit by sandbag from skydiver at Texas Motor Speedway

As the No. 29 Chevrolet of Kevin Harvick sat on pit road prior to Sunday’s running of the AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway it was struck by a sandbag.

A skydiver was landing in the grass area on the front stretch as part of the pre-race ceremonies when a sandbag attached to the state flag of Texas hit the driver side door of Harvick’s car.

NASCAR allowed the team to fix the car before the start of the race. Since the hood of the car did not need to be raised it was not required to go though inspection again.

Harvick entered the day 11th in the Sprint Cup Series point standings.
