Matt Kenseth is not a fan of the Martinsville hot dog

Matt Kenseth has been going to Martinsville Speedway for over a decade yet he has never consumed one of the tracks ‘legendary’ hot dogs. Appearing on Trackside on SPEED the former Sprint Cup Champion kept that streak alive.

Given the opportunity to eat a Martinsville hot dog Kenseth did not seem interested. After some prodding the 40-year-old took one bite. You probably know what happened next. Almost immediately Kenseth turned around and spit it out.

“That was not good advertising” Kenseth noted.

The show moved on to questions from twitter. The first question was asking about the best advice you have ever been given. Kenseth wasted no time in replying “Don’t eat the Martinsville hot dogs.”

In case you were wondering what exactly is a Martinsville hot dog. Jay Busbee of Yahoo Sports can answer that question.

“Its ingredients are simple: pork, mechanically separated chicken, water, salt, as well as 2 percent or less of corn syrup, extrose, beef, flavorings, potassium lactate, sodium phosphates, sodium diacetate, sodium erythrobate, sodium nitrite and Red 40. Just like Mom used to use. ”
