Timmy Hill to drive FAS Lane Ford at Charlotte

The No. 32 Sprint Cup Series Ford Fusion of FAS Lane Racing will be competing at Charlotte Motor Speedway with Timmy Hill behind the wheel. Hill, who has run in the Nationwide Series with Rick Ware Racing, will be pulling double duty this weekend as he competes in both events.

In a news release on his website Hill said the following. “I am excited to be back in a Sprint Cup car this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway, a track I have had some great runs at.” Hill went on to say that he has  “two great race cars this weekend and I am looking forward to driving both the Rick Ware Racing #41 Friday night and the FAS Lane Racing #32 Saturday night.”

Hill won the Nationwide Series rookie of the year award in 2011. Ware had planned to run him full time at the Sprint Cup level this season but after failing to qualify for some of the seasons early races the duo opted for a return to the Nationwide level.

The Port Tobacco, Maryland born, Hill made two starts at the Cup level this year. He finished 42nd in both events. He drove the No. 97 in a start and park effort for Joe Nemecheck last week at Talladega. Hill has run 24 of the Nationwide Series events and recorded two finishes inside the top-ten.
