It may not be the name everyone is waiting to be called but Joe Gibbs Racing has agreed to a contract with a driver. While it is widely suspected that Matt Kenseth will join Joe Gibbs Racing nothing has been officially announced by the driver or team.

Denny Hamlin has agreed to a contract extension with Joe Gibbs Racing. A 19 time winner at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series level, Hamlin has 2 wins this season.

The contract for the 31 year old driver will officially be announced prior to the start of tonight’s race on TNT. The #11 will continue to be sponsored by Fed Ex who has been on his Cup series car since his debut at the level in 2005.

A contract between Hamlin and Gibbs will cover multiple seasons.
