The Chicago Blackhawks lost Marian Hossa early in Saturday’s Stadium Series game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Hossa, 35, suffered what is being called an upper body injury early in the contest.

At 5:06 into the first period Hossa took a hard hit. He left the ice at 6:34 and never returned. He has 24 goals in 50 games this season in 57 contests. More will be known about his status after the game.

UPDATE: Speaking to reporters after the game Blackahawks coach Joel Quenneville said that Hossa will “miss some time.” He went on to say that the injury was not a long term concern.
