Chase Elliott won the second Can-Am duel of Thursday.
The race began with Denny Hamlin on the pole thanks to his second place in Daytona 500 qualifying. Hamlin was assured of starting second for the Daytona 500, just as Alex Bowman is of the pole thanks to his qualifying efforts on Sunday.
Erik Jones lost control of his No. 20 Toyota early in the race causing an incident that also damaged the cars of Kyle Larson and Matt DiBenedetto knocking them from the race.
Chase Elliott would have the lead late and hold off Kevin Harvick with Jones finishing third.
Only 40 cars are entered into the season opening Daytona 500 which left the duel races as qualifying heats instead of the former race your way into the 500 that they had been in past years.
