Three men broke into Childress’ home on Dec. 17, while he slept upstairs. Childress was upstairs in the residence with his wife and heard glass break at the lower level around 10:30 pm. At that point Childress grabbed a handgun and went downstairs where he fired shots at the intruders who had military style riffles with them.

The three men were arrested and later named as Niquan Victorin, Chantz Kade Hines and Armeka Vantonne Spinks. They are being held on $250,000 bond.

According to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office the three men face additional charges of conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of stolen weapons.
