The Houston Texans have signed free agent running back Cam Akers to a contract.
Akers will join a group of running backs which also features Joe Mixon who was given a three-year deal worth $27-million in March.
Last season Akers suffered a torn left Achilles tendon in a Week 9 contest while playing for the Minnesota Vikings.
Akers, a second-round pick of the Rams in 2020, previously suffered the same injury in 2021.
KPRC 2 Houston was first to report Akers’ signing.
